Dr Philippe Wuyts
Dr Philippe Wuyts is a private consultant psychiatrist in Paris, France. He works predominantly with the international community of expats, academics and diplomats and has a particular expertise in the treatment of anxiety disorders and OCD, mood disorders, depression and bipolar disorder, psychotic disorders and burnout.
Dr Wuyts obtained his Medical Degree from the Faculty of Medicine KU Leuven, Belgium, and trained in general adult psychiatry at the UPC KU Leuven, Belgium and at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience King’s College London and the Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust London, UK. He also obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from EDHEC Business School, France.
Dr Wuyts advocates a systemic mental health care approach, and applies a humanist, phenomenological and person-centred framework with attention for the unique narrative, context and environment of each person, and with respect for their existential objectives in order to help improve insight, enhance empowerment and re-define purpose in life.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr Wuyts has strived to contribute to improvements in mental health care through engaging in academic research in neuroscience, mental health service development in early onset psychosis, and through lecturing and publishing on a varied range of topics, especially on the topic of burnout, in which he has built international expertise.
