The event honoured 24 clinics, doctors, surgeons, and other professionals from across Europe for their dedication and commitment to health and medical science.
On the 28th of November, Budapest was the stage for the 5th Edition of the European Awards in Medicine, a gala that recognised 24 clinics, doctors, surgeons, and other health professionals for their outstanding contributions to the advancement of medicine.
This event, which has gained international prestige, brought together specialists from all over Europe at the Gundel Palace, a historic building with over 130 years of history, located in the heart of the Hungarian capital, known as "The Queen of the Danube." The city, famous for its rich architecture, vibrant cultural life, and role as an economic powerhouse in Central Europe, was the perfect place to host this edition of the awards.
A Gala Event in an Exceptional Setting
The evening began with the arrival of the guests, who were received with an atmosphere of elegance and celebration. Despite the cold night, the Christmas lights adorning Budapest and the festive atmosphere made this occasion a memorable event. The attendees posed for the first photographs at the photocall set up by the organisation before enjoying a welcome cocktail inside the Gundel Palace. During this reception, there were interesting exchanges among those present, many of whom took the opportunity to discuss the latest advancements in the medical and scientific fields.
The Queen Elisabeth Ballroom, the main hall of the Gundel Palace, was the chosen venue for the awards ceremony and the subsequent gala dinner. With its classic gold and stucco decorations, this emblematic space reflected the quality and prestige of the European Awards in Medicine.
The Ceremony
The event began with a musical performance that captivated the audience, followed by the welcoming remarks from the presenters Sonia Fernández and Andrés López. Then, Antonio Queijeiro, director of the awards, delivered a speech highlighting the valuable work of the honoured professionals, emphasising the importance of their often unseen but essential role in improving global health.
Throughout the night, a total of 24 statuettes were awarded, in a ceremony that showcased the excellence of medical professionals. Of the awards presented, 12 were given to specialists from Spain, evidencing the quality and international prestige of Spanish medicine. Professionals from the United Kingdom, Italy, Turkey, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Malta, and other European countries also received awards.
Each awardee had the opportunity to address the audience with a brief thank-you speech. Many of them mentioned the support of their families, friends, and work teams, whom they considered fundamental pillars of their success. Additionally, the speeches reflected a deep commitment to the future of medicine, alluding to the technological and scientific advances that will change the face of health in the coming years.
An Event that Promotes Professional Exchange
After the awards ceremony, the honourees participated in a series of interviews at the press area set up by the organisation, whose recordings will be available on the official awards website (www.theeuropeanawards.eu). The ceremony was streamed online, allowing the celebration to be followed by thousands of people around the world.
Among the most notable moments of the night were two musical performances, which helped create an atmosphere of distinction and elegance, before the traditional gala dinner. The event culminated with an exquisite tasting of typical Hungarian and European dishes, where the guests could enjoy the culinary specialities of the Gundel Palace.
Collaboration with Félix Ramiro
This year, the organisers collaborated with the renowned Spanish designer Félix Ramiro, whose elegant suits were worn by Antonio Queijeiro and Pablo Suñer, the director of the awards and the manager of El Suplemento and the Professional and Business Excellence Institute, during the gala.
The 5th Edition of the European Awards in Medicine concluded with resounding success, reaffirming the organisation's commitment to excellence and recognising talent in the medical field. An event that will undoubtedly mark a milestone in the history of the awards and leave an indelible mark on all participants.
Everything in Gundel is about heritage, which includes the restaurant, the cradle of Hungarian gastronomy. Hungary's most famous and only Hungarikum restaurant is unmissable, the most famous place in Budapest and the most famous Hungarian gastronomy.
The restaurant is famous for its excellent hospitality and Hungarian gastronomy. It is located in the most visited destination of Budapest, near Heroes' Square, in a 19th century palace building at the gateway to the City Park. The upstairs part of the palace building is a venue for high quality events, including balls, weddings, corporate and private events, conferences and training courses.
