"The European Legal Awards back in Paris with optimism and enthusiasm"

The Ritz Hotel in Paris hosted the second edition of the European Legal Awards, an event that brings together professionals and law firms giving them a space to exchange ideas and projects

The city of lights received the award-winners of the European Legal Awards, who arrived at the Ritz Hotel in Paris at 6:00 p.m. Night fell in the French capital illuminated by thousands of Christmas lights, which make the city the perfect place to come at this time of year.

Even the winter cold gave the city a special charm, palpable in any corner: a walk along the Champ-Elysées, a visit to Notre Dame, touring the Montmartre district or getting lost in the Louvre become experiences to enjoy even more, surrounded by the Christmas atmosphere.

The Luis XIV salon, at the Ritz Hotel, has access to the impressive garden of the emblematic hotel. The attendees arrived the to participate in the welcome cocktail, where the organization made the relevant presentations, inviting them to interact in a proactive networking.

After the cocktail and photocall, a musical performance of Spanish singer Aixa Romay opened the Awards gala.

The Awards director, Antonio Queijeiro, dedicated a few words to the winners and took the opportunity to thank health professionals, Security Forces and all those professionals who worked tirelessly during the toughest months of the pandemic. To all of them, the director dedicated the Nessun Dorma, from the opera Turandot, performed by the tenor Jorge Puerta, "for all those people and professionals who spent countless sleepless nights", the director expressed.

After the speech, the awards ceremony began. The hosters, Raquel Castro and Andrés López, delivered 14 trophies, given by the Professional and Business Excellence Institute, organizer of the event. All the award-winners have been awarded for their excellence in the sector in an international meeting point for legal professionals who stand out for their dedication and vocation. In their speeches, several professionals agreed to highlight the importance of prevention in the legal profession, encouraging people to avoid trials: “a sentence imposed by a judge will never be complied with by the parties in the same way as an agreement ”, commented Belén Garro, from Ruiz Medina Garro Abogados. "We have been doing preventive advocacy since 85, we must try to prevent the trial from taking place," said Ramón Medina.

The lawyer Alberto García Cebrián, a specialist in Family Law, acknowledged that, from his office “we try to contribute to the increase in the number of divorces by mutual agreement. We base our work on preventive advice, since the best trial is the one that is avoided”.

The lawyer Celestino García Carreño encouraged his colleagues to continue fighting even for what seems impossible and recalled the sentence of March 4, 2020: “in 2016, we began to denounce financial entities that charged usurious fees and they called us crazy. We didn't know we couldn't do it and that's why we did it”.

All the winners agreed to thank their colleagues, friends and family for their support and tenacity, since many times, success comes taking leisure time.

Pablo Suñer, manager of El Suplemento, was in charge of saying the official closing words, in which he encouraged the winners to move forward, thanking not only their work and effort, but also the patience of their families and friends.

After Suñer's speech, dinner was served, a menu proposed by the chef of the gastronomic restaurant of the Hotel Ritz in Paris, Nicolas Sale, accompanied by two sweet dishes designed by the award-winning pastry chef, François Perret.

The touch of glamor was put by the Spanish stylist Tomás Salcedo, who was in charge of the looks of the members of the organization, including the direction of the awards and the presenters of the night. The director and manager of the Professional and Business Excellence Institute wore impeccably tailored suits, designed by Félix Ramiro. The female staff, including the host of the gala, Raquel Castro, wore dresses created by designer Benjamin Friman.

The final touch to the evening was put on by the Ópera Urbana group, made up of the mezzo-soprano Catalina Rodríguez, the soprano Vanessa Cera and the tenor Jorge Puerta. They performed different operas and zarzuelas in a final party that ended with a toast from all the attendees.
