Dr Francisco Rodríguez Vela
Graduated in Medicine from the University of Seville (Spain) in 2013, Dr Francisco David Rodríguez Vela specialised in Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Virgen del Rocío University Hospital in Seville, Spain.
Ever since he began his medical studies, Dr Rodríguez Vela had his vocation clear: he wanted to become a plastic surgeon. This, among other things, has to do with the other discipline to which Francisco David devoted much of his formative years: music. During his student years, he combined medicine with his music studies, obtaining a professional degree in Piano from the Manuel Castillo Conservatoire of Seville (2020). His passion for art and music positively influenced his work as a plastic surgeon, since he has integrated concepts such as proportions or harmony.
Beauty, aesthetic proportion and technical knowledge are key aspects both in music and art, as well as in his profession: “music, the art of combining sounds in time, is more closely related to plastic surgery than we could think, not only because of the technical demands of being a musician and because of the “good combination” and aesthetic sense of beauty and proportion, but also because a plastic surgeon must take into account the passage of time”, explains Dr Francisco David Rodríguez Vela.
In addition to being a specialist in Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery, the surgeon is an expert in Aesthetic Medicine and facial treatments, such as botulinum toxin and facial remodelling with hyaluronic acid and calcium hydroxyapatite, among other medical treatments.
He currently combines his activity in the public sphere, working at the Virgen del Rocío University Hospital, in Seville, Spain, with his private activity at NovaClínik, where he works as medical director and manager, acknowledging that “our objective is to satisfy the needs of our patients, offering them the option that best suit their case, using the most up-to-date means and knowledge”.
