Dr Gaetano Cupo
Dr Gaetano Cupo is a specialist in Ophthalmology. He deals in particular with cataract surgery, refractive surgery for visual defects, treatment of glaucoma, diagnosis and medical therapy of maculopathies, retinopathy and laser therapy.
He currently holds the role of Specialist Doctor at the Campus Biomedico University Hospital in Rome and, since 2004, he has been Professor of Ophthalmology for the Degree Course in Nursing at the Tor Vergata University of Rome.
Dr Cupo graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Rome TorVergata, obtaining a cum laude result. He studied a Master’s degree in Aesthetic Medicine at the same university.
He specialized in the school of one of the best Italian ophthalmologists, Professor Bucci, where he obtained the title of Specialization in Ophthalmology and where he had the opportunity to work alongside the professor.
Throughout his professional career and up to 2015, he also dedicates his time to scientific activity, being a researcher at the IRCCS Bietti Foundation in Ophthalmology. Since 2015 he has been fully dedicated to the practice of Ophthalmology at the University Hospital Biomedical Campus in Rome. “I dedicate myself to surgery having the possibility of using the most current technology in the international scene, in order to offer patients a wide variety of fast and cutting-edge surgical solutions, without pain and with proven safety results,” says the doctor.
Gaetano has become a reference in Ophthalmology in his native country, being recognized internationally for his contributions to the field and good medical practice. He is a member of the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, as well as of the Italian Ophthalmological Society, the Italian Glaucoma Society and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
The doctor, in addition to his commendable work in the world of ophthalmology, has become popular throughout Italy due to his numerous interventions on the country’s national television.
