Prof. Francesco Greco
With over 20 years of practical experience as a surgeon, Prof. Francesco Greco has dedicated his life to both teaching and practicing medicine. Having finished his studies of Medicine at the University “Cattolica del Sacro Cuore” in 2003, he obtained in 2007 the European Diploma of Uro-Oncology from the European Board of Urology, and then he specialized in urology in 2008 at Martin-Luther University in Halle/Saale (Germany).
His extended academic experience later served him to start his career as a professor, receiving in 2014 the Italian Board Certification as Associate Professor and in 2020 the Italian Board Certification as Full Professor. He has more than 120 international publications with H-Index of 27 and an impact factor > 500.
In 2021, Francesco Greco was appointed as Associate Professor of Urology at the AKH University of Vienna (Austria). He is active in teaching minimal invasive surgical techniques in several Italian and European universities and hospitals and as a tutor of the European Association of Urology.
Actually, Prof. Francesco Greco is chairman of the Department of Urology of the Policlinico S. Pietro, Gruppo San Donato, in Bergamo (Italy). As a certified surgeon, he has acquired a deep experience in effectuating laparoscopies, minilaparoscopies, LESS surgeries, and robot-assisted surgeries. He also has a deep understanding of transurethral operations, green-light laser surgery, and open surgery for all the urologic spectrum.
Nowadays, Prof. Francesco Greco combines his activity as teacher, investigator, and surgeon. He is the founder of the Centro Salute Uomo in Bergamo (Italy), where experts in many fields of medicine such as psychology, physiotherapy, nutrition, gastroenterology, endocrinology, and urology are leaded by him to treat male patients with a multidisciplinary approach. From there, he also continues his labour in the field of research, trying to develop new procedures that permit operating with less invasive techniques.
