He holds a doctorate in Medicine and a degree in Medicine and Surgery from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and is a specialist in Cardiology from the Hospital de Santa Creu i Sant Pau in Barcelona. He has dedicated much of his life to developing his professional career, perfecting his skills and knowledge in cardiology. Furthermore, he is a certified expert in Hemodynamics and Interventional Cardiology, as well as in Doppler Echocardiography and all its modalities by the Spanish Society of Cardiology, and holds a Master's in Hospital Management and Administration. His impressive resume includes more than 25,000 coronary angiographies and over 3,000 angioplasties.
He has contributed to the field of education as an associate professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the International University of Catalonia. His commitment to medical education reflects his desire to share his experience and knowledge with future generations of healthcare professionals.
Currently, he combines his activity as an interventional cardiologist at the General Hospital of Catalonia Quironsalud, where he leads a team of cardiologists, and the directorship of the Centre de Cardiología Loubad.
The Centre de Cardiología Loubad, located in Catalonia, Spain, and under Dr Loubad's direction, has become a reference centre in cardiology throughout Catalonia, also attending numerous patients from the rest of Spain. It is the highest-rated and most awarded centre in Catalonia. He has also created the Foundation Akram Loubad, which provides medical and humanitarian aid to the population of Gaza, especially in the field of Cardiology.
