Being a sportsman and a former rugby player for the Racing Club de France, Christophe Champs experienced firsthand the benefits that orthotics provided in his activities. Since graduating from the Institut National de Podologie in Paris, Christophe has worked for over 15 years around the world. His strong desire to share his passion for the human body led him to found the PODO Clinic & Workshop in 2016, with the goal of changing 100 lives every month.
PODO began with its founder’s intention to make orthotics and his profession accessible and affordable. Initially available in fitness studios, the development of his London clinic introduced a faster, more direct approach to meet patients’ needs by creating orthotics within a 90-minute appointment. PODO’s methodology involves assessing patients' posture, biomechanics, and gait to create a treatment plan that not only fits comfortably in their shoes but is also tailored to their lifestyle.
Custom-made and asymmetrical, the PODO ORTHOTICS are moulded directly onto patients' feet and handcrafted right in front of them. Each orthotic is fully adapted not only to the individual but also to the specific needs of each foot.
Ready to wear at the end of the appointment, this personal and immersive methodology enables patients to truly understand their issues by identifying and isolating root causes. They also gain insight into what they can expect from a conservative approach—without the use of a blade or needle.
As Christophe Champs states, “PODO ORTHOTICS are made for your feet and work from the ground up.” By providing support to the entire body, PODO aims to prevent injuries and uneven wear and tear in the ankle, knee, hip, and facet joints of the spine, while also reducing unnecessary muscle fatigue associated with misalignment.
In the past year, PODO has expanded beyond its London clinic to offer an innovative and convenient mobile service. While its core operations remain in London, PODO now provides a mobile clinic that enables orthotic delivery worldwide. This approach allows orthotics to be crafted wherever needed, offering an exclusive and forward-thinking service—one that has been utilised in PODO’s 2024 CAMPAIGN to address knee injuries in women’s football.
