Avamed Synergy is a Spanish deep-tech company based in the Digital District of Alicante, specializing in digital surgery and precision medicine applied to cancer. Founded in 2012, it has become a benchmark in innovative healthcare technology, especially through its flagship platform, Fluxus. Fluxus is an advanced clinical environment that generates spatial host-tumour models using AI and deep learning. While not a diagnostic tool per se, it enables anticipation of tumour growth, enhances surgical precision, and reduces false negatives, overdiagnosis, and unnecessary treatments. Preliminary internal results show significant improvements: up to a 95% reduction in false negatives, 70% improvement in treatment strategies, and a 30% decrease in surgical time.
Since 2017, Avamed has collaborated with public hospitals such as La Arrixaca (Murcia), Carlos Haya (Málaga), and Río Hortega (Valladolid), participating in complex surgeries across various specialties. The company also promotes a technology transfer model between hospitals and research centers, including ISABIAL, INCLIVA, and IBIMA.
In 2024, Avamed closed a successful €800,000 investment round to further develop Fluxus and expand its R&D team. In 2025, it received funding from IVACE+i for the BOHEMIA 3 project, focused on biomechanical analysis of aortic aneurysms using AI. The company also took part in the Transfiere 2025 innovation forum in Málaga, strengthening its national visibility.
Avamed is currently engaged in a new funding round of up to €5 million to complete pilot tests of Fluxus and begin international expansion. Led by CEO Lucas Díez and supported by a strong R&D team, the company maintains a strong commitment to equality, inclusion, and sustainability.
