Four decades dedicated to employment law in Spain
Concepción Vidaurre Mauleón
Based in Pamplona, Concha Vidaurre Mauleón has established herself as one of Spain’s leading figures in Employment Law. With over 40 years of experience, this solicitor has built a career defined by commitment, specialisation, and an unwavering defence of workers’ rights.
A Law graduate, she began her professional journey as a legal advisor for a trade union, providing guidance to employees facing workplace conflicts. This initial stage granted her deep insight into the realities of the labour market and strengthened her social vocation. She later transitioned to private legal consultancy and went on to found her own firm, Vidaurre y Asociados, from which she has had a considerable legal impact both locally and nationally.
Her firm has become known for offering comprehensive and personalised legal counsel to both workers and employers, covering contract analysis, dismissals, collective bargaining, and the handling of redundancy proceedings such as EREs and ERTEs (Spanish collective and temporary redundancy procedures). However, it is her involvement in landmark cases that has earned her broader recognition.
A recent example of her significance came with a pioneering ruling in which she secured the reinstatement of a worker diagnosed with Permanent Total Incapacity. Until then, such a diagnosis typically led to immediate dismissal. Thanks to Vidaurre’s legal strategy, the court recognised the worker’s right to remain employed, provided they could be reassigned to a role compatible with their condition. This decision not only benefited her client but also set a new legal precedent protecting vulnerable workers across Spain.
Her commitment extends beyond the courtroom. For decades, she has provided ongoing voluntary legal support to associations such as ANANAR (asbestos victims), FRIDA (people with fibromyalgia), and GERNA (individuals with rare diseases). Her work has led to significant legal achievements, including the recognition of occupational illness status, which ensures financial compensation and access to employment protections.
Clients, colleagues, and organisations consistently praise her professionalism, empathy, and dedication. For many, she is not only a legal representative but also a trusted ally in times of hardship. Her ability to combine legal expertise with human understanding makes her a standout figure in her field.
Concha Vidaurre Mauleón remains active today, leading her practice with the same passion and integrity that have defined her career. Her legal and social legacy is now a fundamental part of Spanish Employment Law, and she stands as a role model for new generations of legal professionals.
